Hi all members,
Another month in our short season has passed and has been most enjoyable and entertaining.
The ITV Meridian interview was screened and you all managed to see it.
The Open Tournament is just over a week away and we are all looking forward to another successful event. As a reminder, the Open Tournament is on Saturday, 16th August 2025.
A list of duties has been placed on the door of the club house for all to view. Please can all volunteers be at the club at 8.30am to assist with the setting up of the hall. We also need volunteers to assist on Friday, 15th August 2025 with setting up the bowls club (gazebo’s, club house etc) – this will commence at 8.30am.
A list of all the food donations for the day, is on the notice board in the club house.
We will also be looking for DONATIONS FOR THE RAFFLE to be held on the day. These can either be left in the club or given to Les Hill or Doreen Tanner.
The social event held at the Ladies vs Gents game on Saturday, 2nd August was a huge success. Thanks to Sue and Glyn Bell for organising this and thanks to everyone who donated food for the event. It was a great success and hope to do something similar next year.
Finally, a reminder that it is the Club Trips completion this on Saturday, 9th August 2025 at 1.30pm. We look forward to seeing you all there.
ITV MERIDIAN NEWS - HUNTON BOWLS CLUB DUE TO BE AIRED ON 11TH JULY 2025
ITV Meridian recently touched base with Sue Bell through our website and on Tuesday, 2nd July 2025 came down to the club to do interview and to take footage of people bowling.
This Film was aired on Friday, 11th July 2025
HUNTON OPEN TOURNAMENT SATURDAY 16TH AUGUST 2025.
This is an all day event and we are looking for volunteers to assist us in various ways, making the tea and coffee selling the cakes.
Setting up the tables in the village hall ready for lunches, washing dishes between settings, cleaning up and packing away etc. So if you are available at any time during the day for a few hours come and help.
Please can you let Lorraine know by email if you are able to assist as she needs to work out the schedule.
Please note that it has been agreed that members assist us at this event, will be given a free lunch.
We would like donations of raffle prizes, cakes and all other food items for the lunch to be served to the guests.
A meeting will be set up with the ladies to discuss this in more detail.
As mentioned in a previous newsletter, we require written permission to publish your photo on our website. If you have not already done so, please respond to Lorraine by email or we will be unable to publish your photos.
You may note in the Fixture Card the dates originally for the Ladies vs Gents as for Saturday, 2nd August at 1.30pm.
This has been rescheduled to Sunday, the 3rd August 2025 which will start at 1pm where we will have our social event the BBQ.

The cost of each club logo badge and name will be £8.

When you take your shirts to Kara make sure your details are attached and please put the items into black box in the front of her house.
SPRINKLERS
Recently the sprinklers came on when roll up were happening. If this should happen to you, you can switch it off. In the ladies change room, directly opposite the door, is a small pine cabinet. Inside the cabinet on the right hand side, is a plug switch. Simply switch this to off.
BOOKING A RINK FOR A CLUB COMPETITION
When booking a rink to play a competition please do it one of two ways.
Check the rinks calendar on the website or the one in the clubhouse to make sure a rink is free. If you are doing it online then email Andy via huntonbowlsclub@gmail.com with the date you wish to play, the rink number, who you are playing
If you are in the clubhouse then enter the details onto the paper copy and then email the above address. That way Andy can keep the online version up to date.

GREEN FEES & RAFFLE TOKENS
The token system is now in place and available for purchase.
You can either pay cash, by cheque or by bank transfer.
The green tokens are for match fees and cost £3 per token.
The red tokens are for raffles and roll ups and cost £1 per token
MATCH SELECTION
You can now check if you have been selected to play in matches, the list is added in the FIXTURES CALENDER on the play date, click on the date, then the game and scroll down you should see an attachment which shows who is playing.
