Hi all members,

Welcome to the 2026 season.

We will soon be gearing up for our 1st game but before we do that, we need your assistance in a variety of ways.

You will all be pleasantly surprised by how much work has been done over the winter – thank to Lol and many others for their hard work and dedication.

We will be doing the annual cleaning up of the club, in preparation for the coming season and will need volunteers to assist us with this task.  This will take place on Wednesday, 1st April 2026 – starting at 9am.  The more volunteers we have, the quicker we will get the work done.

The Registration and Coffee morning will be held on Saturday, 11th April 2026 at 10am.  We are looking for volunteers to man the coffee/tea and cake tables.  Any interested parties, please let me know.  On the day, we will be holding a Tombola and we need donations for the prizes please.  We are also looking for donations for small cakes, cupcakes, sausage rolls, scones etc.  We will be grateful for those donations.

In addition to the registration on this day, 3 lists will be on the door for:

a)     Those wishing to participate in the Tuesday night Weald League

b)    Those wishing to participate in the Men’s Friday Night League and

c)     Those wishing to participate in the new Ladder.

Teams for the two leagues will be chosen for the whole season and will be published accordingly.

With regard to the Club Competition draw, this will be held on Saturday, 2nd May 2026 at 1.15pm, prior to the Club game.

Weekly friendlies – we will be introduction a new role – Club Steward.  Each week when the teams are selected, 2 people in the group will be nominated to be Club Stewards.  The responsibilities of the Club Stewards will be to ensure that the greens are set up prior to the match with all the necessary equipment and to ensure that everything is packed away after the game.  Also to ensure that all the toilets, changing rooms and club house is locked up before leaving the green.  If you are unable to fulfil this role when you are appointed please advise Lol asap, in order for him to find a replacement.

A rota will be drawn up, once we have a full membership list.  One for the men will be for assistance at the green, similar to the swishing rota that was done over the winter.  This will be to assist at the green on Tuesday morning around 11am – this will be to assist with taking leaves out of the ditches and sweeping the grounds and the veranda.  For the ladies two rotas will be done – the tea rota and the cleaning rota.  Those rotas will follow in due course.

Ladder – I will send out a separate email regarding this new initiative.

By now, most of you would have received your renewal forms from Angela, together with the Fixture Booklet.  Since printing, there has been a game added to the fixtures, so please be sure to add this to your own booklet.  The game is a friendly against Pembury at home, on Sunday, 21st June 2026 2.30pm.
